Summer Forms Call

Did you receive a phone call from us regarding your summer forms?  If you did that means that we have not received your summer forms yet.  

If you have mailed these recently, then you don't need to do anything.  We'll get them.  

If you have them, complete them, and then return them to us by one of the means listed below.

If you have them completed, but are waiting on immunization records or insurance information, please send the forms now, and provide that information to us at a later date.

If you've lost them, you'll need to complete a new set of forms.  Freshmen/sophomores can click here to download new forms; juniors can click here to download new forms; and seniors attending Summer Bridge can click here to download new forms.  You will need to print this new set of forms, and send to us prior to the deadline.

To return forms to us you can use any of the methods below, but if you're close to the deadline, we'd prefer you scan/email or fax them to us so we're not waiting on the mail for a long time.

If you have an MSU UB business reply by mail envelope, you can mail your forms in that without paying for postage.

You can also submit forms in person in our office at 627 East Main Street - Room 106 in Morehead, KY.  This is the former Rowan County Courthouse attached to the Rowan County Detention Center.

UB T-Shirt Design Competition

The Upward Bound Programs at Morehead State University are looking for your design for our 2017 T-shirt!

Here are the details for what we're looking for:
  • Submitted by a current Upward Bound student
  • Your original artwork (no copyrighted art/characters)
  • Drawn with line art and solid color fills
  • 2-4 color maximum (black counts as a color)
  • Submitted art can be hand drawn or computer drawn
All entries are due March 1, 2017.  We will only accept artwork submitted to upwardboud@moreheadstate.edu.  You can take a picture of your art and submit a picture, or if it's created on a computer, simply submit the design file in whatever program you used.  Artwork will be rendered (redrawn) to print on a shirt using screen printing methods, and may be altered to allow for printing.

Look at previous year shirt designs for examples for what we're looking for:

50 Year Celebration

MSU will be celebration 50 Years of Upward Bound Programs at Morehead State University on September 24, 2016!  All former students, staff, instructors, volunteers, etc. are invited to attend.  Please RSVP prior to September 16th by visiting http://bit.ly/UB50Year

We will be in the gym and lawn of the Laughlin Building on campus and a lunch will be provided for those that RSVP at noon.   We hope to see as many people as we can at this event to share memories of UB and the ways it impacted your lives!

Updated March 19, 2016 Return Trip Bus Schedule

Due to the extended length of the March 19, 2016 Return Trip, a slight modification has been made to the bus schedule. On this day, buses will leave the Morehead State University campus at 3:30 p.m., which is 30 minutes later than normal. Parents dropping-off/picking-up students should do so in front of Baird Music Hall at 9:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively. Please download the "MARCH BUS SCHEDULE" document below for more details.

Looking for Summer Residence Hall Staff

We are looking for some outstanding young men and women to work with our students this summer. Residence Hall applications are available now for Student Advisor and Summer Supervisor. Instructor applications will be available at the beginning of 2016.

Accepting Program Applications!

Upward Bound is recruiting for the 2015-2016 academic year.  Joining now will ensure your spot in our 2016 Summer program!  If you've heard any of our students talk about the program, you know it both fun and educational!  It's better than sitting at home for the summer because you will get to meet about 270 other students from the region.  We have amazingly fun activities to keep you involved, and our classes will help prepare you for college both academically and socially!

So what are you waiting for?  We serve students from the public high school in following counties Boyd, Carter (both East and West Carter), Elliott, Fleming, Johnson, Lawrence, Lewis, Magoffin, Mason, Menifee, Morgan and Rowan.  Apply today by seeing your high school guidance counselor for an application or print your own here.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but our priority deadline is October 31st.  All of ourschools have already begun recruiting, and will finish by Mid November.  Be sure to get your application submitted today to ensure you have a spot in UB!

UB Summer 2015 Almost Here!

Good morning Upward Bounders!!!!  The Summer Academy will soon be in full swing for all of you.  Here's the schedule of when things will happen:
  • Bridge only will move in on May 31st
  • Non-res week will be June 2nd, 3rd, & 4th
  • Non-Bridge will move-in on June 7th

We are excited to announce Return Trip dates for 2014-2015.  Here are the dates:

April 11th
May TBA (Travel Day)

All times will be from 10 am - 3 pm EDT or EST.
